| Established in 1980, S1000D is a military standard for the creation and delivery of technical documentation. Today, S1000D’s profile is exceptionally high with major military projects worldwide utilizing the standard along with interesting projects in commercial aerospace. S1000D is already the ‘de facto’ standard in Europe with successful implementations on many projects including Typhoon (Eurofighter).

The UK MOD (Ministry of Defence) is a major driver of S1000D, contractors are now mandated to implement the standard on virtually all substantial equipment supplied to the UK government.

The United States DOD (Department of Defense) is implementing S1000D now, important work is already underway including DOD and US industry activities. Many locations expect to start their projects soon.

If you wish your technical graphics to be compliant you are required to generate a WebCGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) file using the correct S1000D profile. ITEDO’s product range provides this capability today.
