Using Hotspots in IsoView

  • Select the hand tool .
  • Move the mouse over the arrow "A". See how the cursor changes into a pointing finger. This indicates that the cursor is above a hotspot.
  • Click inside the arrow "A". The arrow is shown inverted while you keep the mouse button depressed. You can move the mouse in and out of the arrow to see this.
  • Release the mouse button.
  • A different part of the same illustration will be displayed.
  • Click on other arrows to navigate around. A click on one of the squared letters will take you back to the point from which this view was referenced.

IsoView handles all hotspots automatically. There is no need anymore for overlays which need to be updated with every change. Use IsoDraw to create illustrations with objects and hotspots. They will be recognized by IsoView. In IsoDraw you can specify a link to a different graphic location. If you click on the hotspot the link will be executed, i.e.the target will become visible.
Most people act visually. They would rather point to the arrow "A" and ask "What is this?" than reading a lengthy explanation. Graphic navigation is a very powerful and easy to handle way to guide people to the right information quickly.
