This collection of essays covering various aspects of Technical Communication was published by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC) in the UK.
Among these essays, one specifically deals with Technical Illustration. In "Illustration (information-graphics) for technical publications", Peter Lightfoot gives a good overview of the topic and discusses the main techniques and tools used in Technical Illustration. An additional 5-page glossary rounds out this highly informational essay.
