On May 23, 2002, many interested people attended a presentation offered by ITEDO in cooperation with the Swiss Bytics Technologie AG. During the event in Uster (Zurich) they received an extensive introduction to the latest version of IsoDraw CADprocess.
The audience consisted of experienced documentation professionals, who were deeply interested in the enhanced import capabilities of 3D CAD data, including the newly-added recognition of whole assemblies. After a short introduction to the general use of 3D CAD data in Technical Illustration, some practice examples helped demonstrate how assemblies can be imported selectively and how they can automatically be converted into exploded view drawings.
The CADprocess users were delighted to hear that the effort necessary for the preparation of the data by the design department can now be heavily reduced. This results in a higher acceptance of the provision of this data and the cost for the creation of illustrations can be further reduced.
A special highlight for companies that deliver their documentation electronically (or are at least planning to do so), is the automatic creation of object information with hotspots. For the first time ever, the structures of the CAD data can be used in documentation, without any manual work.
Later on, the use of this data and the new functions of IsoView 3 were demonstrated with the help of an electronic spare parts catalog, which ITEDO had developed for a customer. This last step demonstrated how the entire process from 3D CAD to Technical Documentation can be automated with the help of the ITEDO products.
The participants praised the high volume of information that was provided in the presentation. We also received excellent feedback from other presentations in Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart. We at ITEDO would like to return the compliments to the attendees and thank them for their participation and the pleasant exchange of new ideas.
