Members of CGM Open, an OASIS affiliate since 1998, approved the transition to become an OASIS Member Section, officially bringing them under the operating structure of the OASIS TC Process.

CGM Open is dedicated to making Web graphics standards easy to adopt and practical to use in real world, open systems applications. CGM Open developed and currently maintains WebCGM, an application of the ISO-standard Computer Graphics Metafile for electronic documents.

Dieter Weidenbrueck, the long time Chairman of the CGM Open Consortium will continue to serve as the Chairman of the CGM Open Member Section.
